The Muppets

Not much to report in the world of diecast but I did put up a new Hot Wheel Collection: "The Muppets" character cars.  You can check them out here if you haven't seen them yet.  I rather like the Kermit amphibious car and the Animal truck.  If you hold your mouse over the Kermit image you can see the back end with the propellers. Fozzie the Bear is pictured below.

New Additions: A Toy Box!

My employer was at a party a couple of weeks ago and he overheard the host say "What should I do with these toy cars? My kid no longer plays with them."  Well, he knew who would take them and brought them to me.  Joy!

I loved digging through this box. It's always fun. Especially when you find something.  There were a good amount of copies and nothing is really mint, but I did find a couple of gems and some decent repaints that have been assimilated into the Museum.  The bigger scale stuff has been given to a friend who has kids and the extras have been boxed up. I guess I will need to find them good homes. ;-)

A hearty "Thank You" goes out to Charles and the kids that donated this collection to my diecast insanity. They got a cleaner closet and I got some hours of enjoyment digging through cars.

Site Point of Interest... Since 68 Collector Top 40 Set

Hi folks.  I just wanted to point out  a new page on the site.  The Since 68 Collector Top 40 Set by Hot Wheels.  Now you can see the set without the annoying box and as a added bonus each pic has a link to its main location so it can be a different way to start browsing the museum when you're bored at work or trying not to listen to your partner yak on about some bill or whatever...

New Additions: Toy Show

I went to a the Eckman's Toy Show in New Braunfels this Saturday and here's the new lot.  I don't know if any of my Texas readers made it, but I have to say this show was kind of disappointing this time around.  These were the only cars I found.  There was a real shortage on vintage models.  Most of the venders sold new stuff which I never buy because I do not want to encourage these people raiding the pegs at my local stores.  If I get beat, I'd rather it be by other collectors. This show was the first time at it's new venue, so hopefully it will get rolling again.
Ah well, it was still fun to do some digging. Have fun in your hunt.

I just found the new Matchbox tank.  The Blockade Buster.  A double barreled brute for a buck! Enjoy!

Buses

Well, it's that time of year when the stores don't stock that much so there's not too much to collect. Don't worry, things will pick up again as we approach Easter. In the meantime, here's a picture of some big & fast Hot Wheels Buses from 2013 that I thought looked good together.
